9203_31709_1.png Summary
Do you find yourself wracking your brain for that great web site you found last week, but forgot to add to your Favorites list? Did you have to reformat your computer and now you've lost your Internet Favorites? Use FirstClass bookmarks to mark your favorite sites. You'll never lose them again.
FirstClass makes it easier for you to bookmark a page for future access by allowing you to add a FirstClass bookmark button to your browsers.
9203_31709_1.png Example
John Smith is a teacher at Avalon Academy. He is always searching the web for new information. When he finds a site he likes, he bookmarks it in FirstClass.
To set this up, John opens the Bookmark folder and clicks Add Browser Buttons. He clicks Yes when prompted to add the FirstClass bookmarks button to all browsers installed.

If John is not prompted to add FirstClass bookmarks to his browsers, he can click Add Browser Buttons to bring up the prompt.

Now all John has to do to bookmark a page in future is click the FirstClass Bookmark button on his browser toolbar.

He will be prompted to log into FirstClass temporarily while the bookmark is added, and then he will be logged out again automatically.

To do this yourself, your FirstClass site must be set up to handle web-based logins. If you are unsure, check with your administrator.
9203_31709_1.png Variation
If John only has access to a public computer (such as an Internet cafe), he may not want to add a FirstClass Bookmark button to the browsers. However, he can still add bookmarks to FirstClass.

To do this, John chooses File > New > New Bookmark, then enters the full path to the object at "URL" on the Advanced tab. If needed, he also assigns a name to the bookmark entry by editing the name field.

John can also drag the website's address icon to the URL field or directly into the Bookmarks folder on his Desktop.

To access the web site later, John simply goes into his Bookmarks folder and double-clicks the link. He can rename the link for easy reference by either clicking the name to make it editable, or by opening the shortcut menu from the link and choosing Rename.
This is what John's Bookmarks folder looks like.
